Now available with NSF 61 approved materials.
We are proud to present the Tesla Series Latching Solenoid Valves, iQ's distinct solution optimized specifically for applications requiring minimal power consumption and reduced heat generation. Building upon our extensive experience with proportional and on/off solenoid valves, we have expanded our product range to include latching solenoid valves, providing ideal solution for power-sensitive applications.
iQ’s Latching solenoid valves deliver exceptional energy-saving capabilities by utilizing dramatically reduced power compared to conventional solenoid valves.
Efficiency Unlocked: How Latching Valves Operate
The unique design of the latching solenoid valve leverages the fact that the energy required to keep the solenoid valve open is considerably lower than the energy needed to open it. A permanent magnet is integrated into the valve's design to hold the plunger in place once the valve is open. Upon receiving an initial "power pulse," the plunger is activated to open the valve, after which the magnet maintains its position without the need for continuous electrical input. The valve remains in its current state until a subsequent power pulse is applied. These valves deliver optimized performance without the need for continuous power, making them energy efficient.
Valve Control Options : iQ’s Tesla Series latching solenoid valves are available in both two-wire and three-wire coil designs. The two-wire coil features a single winding, requiring the control system to reverse the polarity of the electrical current. In contrast, the three-wire coil design utilizes two reversed coils, requiring the control system to alternately apply electrical power to reverse the polarity
Key Differentiator:
Superior Energy Efficiency
Latching solenoid valves consume electrical power only during the actuation of the "on" or "off" state. Unlike standard solenoid valves, they require no power during the holding state, which dramatically reduces energy consumption. This makes them especially suitable for applications with limited power resources, such as battery-operated devices.
Reduced Heat Generation
In traditional solenoid valves, the coil remains energized during operation, leading to heat generation. With the latching solenoid valve, electrical power is only required during the actuation phase, resulting in a significant reduction in heat generation. This makes the Tesla Series an excellent choice for applications sensitive to temperature increases.
Enhanced Longevity
Thanks to their energy efficiency and minimized heat generation, the coils of latching solenoid valves typically have a longer lifespan than those in standard valves, thereby enhancing the overall durability and reliability of the valve.
